The basic idea of Grandkvartalet was not just to build something new, but to create a meeting place in the heart of the city for both residents of the quarter and the rest of the city. Grandkvartalet will have many such meeting places, but the ones that are completely unique: Grandplassen and Grandhagen.

Grandplassen will be an urban cityscape with several new functions created to fulfill the need for a positive city experience. The space will open up a new route from the city to the harbor, created as a lively shopping street filled with restaurants, a food hall and exciting shops.

Grandhagen will be the quarter’s own garden and will give the living environment a special atmosphere and a calm retreat in inspiring surroundings where you can meet other people and just be part of life in the quarter.
